Vandal Community Tables
Vandal Community Tables is a program designed with the goal of utilizing surplus food from campus dining and providing meals for those in need. In its second year at the University of Idaho, Vandal Community Tables is partnering with our campus food provider, Sodexho, to do just this. The food comes from places like Bob’s and the 6th Street Marketplace and is delivered to Troy Lutheran Church just ten miles west of Moscow. At this time, it requires about eight volunteers to prepare and serve the meal to roughly 60-70 guests.
Over the past year, we have provided more than 1,000 meals. Our hope is that the program will grow in awareness and size and will soon be able to accommodate multiple delivery locations within the Palouse.
